# Connect the Data Parrot MCP Server to Grok

## Connect the Data Parrot MCP Server to Grok.com

Grok Business and Enterprise

A Grok team admin must add Data Parrot before team members can connect it.

1.  ### Open Grok connectors

    Go to [grok.com/connectors](https://grok.com/connectors).

2.  ### Add Data Parrot

    Select **New Connector → Custom**. Enter **Data Parrot** as the name and paste the server URL.

3.  ### Connect your Data Parrot account

    Select **Add Connector**, then sign in to Data Parrot. Data Parrot will appear on the Grok **Connectors** page.

## Connect the Data Parrot MCP Server to Grok CLI

1.  ### Add Data Parrot

    Run this command in your terminal:

    Grok CLI setup command

    `grok mcp add --transport http data-parrot https://api-v3.dataparrot.ai/api/v3/data-parrot/mcp`

2.  ### Authenticate

    Start Grok CLI, then open the MCP Servers menu:

    Grok MCP command

    `/mcps`

    Select **data-parrot**, choose **Authenticate**, and sign in to Data Parrot in your browser.

3.  ### Confirm the connection

    Return to Grok and confirm **data-parrot** shows as connected.

## Troubleshoot a Grok connection

| What you see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| Grok.com does not let you add Data Parrot | If you use Grok Business or Enterprise, ask your Grok admin to add the connector for your team. |
| Grok CLI says authentication is required | Open the MCP Servers menu as shown above, select data-parrot, and choose Authenticate. |
| Grok CLI cannot connect to Data Parrot | Run the diagnostic command below and review the reported connection problem. |

## Disconnect Data Parrot from Grok

-   **Grok.com:** Open [grok.com/connectors](https://grok.com/connectors), find Data Parrot, and disconnect or remove it.
-   **Grok CLI:**
