Connect Data Parrot MCP

Requirements and setup steps for connecting Data Parrot to an MCP-compatible AI client.

A HubSpot account is required to connect Data Parrot MCP.

Data Parrot MCP requires a Pro or Max subscription. A Starter workspace can complete HubSpot setup before upgrading, but it cannot access revenue data through MCP.

Before you connect

You need:

  • Access to a HubSpot account.
  • A Data Parrot Pro or Max workspace, or a workspace admin who can upgrade the workspace after HubSpot setup.
  • An MCP-compatible AI client, such as Claude or Codex.

Anyone with access to the MCP connection can access all Data Parrot data in the selected workspace, including synced HubSpot data. Data Parrot cannot apply HubSpot per-user permissions to MCP access.

Connect from your AI client

Add a remote MCP server in your client with this production URL:

https://api-v3.dataparrot.ai/api/v3/data-parrot/mcp

For Codex CLI, run:

codex mcp add data_parrot --url "https://api-v3.dataparrot.ai/api/v3/data-parrot/mcp"
codex mcp login data_parrot

Then:

  1. Complete the browser authorization flow when your client opens it.
  2. Sign in with HubSpot and review the Data Parrot MCP access notice.
  3. Approve the connection and return to your AI client.
  4. Restart the client if the new Data Parrot tools do not appear immediately.

If you belong to more than one Data Parrot workspace, choose the workspace this MCP connection should use. The connection stays assigned to that workspace until you explicitly switch it.

Complete HubSpot setup

HubSpot may ask you to choose an account twice:

  1. HubSpot sign-in confirms who you are and which company you work with.
  2. If your Data Parrot workspace still needs CRM setup, Connect HubSpot selects and authorizes the HubSpot account Data Parrot will sync.

Connecting Data Parrot MCP does not complete the second step. Follow Connect HubSpot and finish onboarding before MCP can access revenue data.

If MCP access is not ready

The MCP response provides the next action for your account:

Create Data Parrot workspaceYour HubSpot account does not have a Data Parrot workspace yet.
Request accessA workspace exists, but you are not an active member. The request notifies workspace admins.
Upgrade Data ParrotYour connected workspace is on Starter. A workspace admin must upgrade it to Pro or Max.
